BOOK MATERIALS 1-GOOD FRIDAY MESSAGE 2

QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF AT THIS GOOD FRIDAY
We need to ask ourselves these questions because Jesus is our example or  pattern and the One to follow. We see this everywhere in the Bible.
Hebrews 12:2 (KJV)  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;
Romans 8:29 (KJV)  For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Question 1: ARE YOU WITHOUT BLAME?
1. Jesus Was Completely Guiltless. This same Jesus lives in you now. Pilate could not really find any legal or ethical reason to condemn Him.
Jesus was:
Examined publicly
Examined privately
Examined politically
And still found innocent.
Pilate declared Him innocent in the following verses. Luke 23:4, 22; John 18:38; 19:4

The Bible says so in Mat. 26:59–60.  In Mat. 27:3–4 – Judas confessed: “innocent blood”. Even in the dream world, He was innocent to Pilate’s wife.
πŸ‘‰ Lesson:
Live a life that cannot be accused. Live like Daniel and Jesus — no fault.
Question 2. DO YOU STILL DEFEND YOURSELF?
Matthew 27:13-14 (KJV)  Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee?
And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.

Jesus Did Not Defend Himself
See Mat. 26:62–63; 27:11–14;  Mark 14:60–61
πŸ‘‰ Lesson:
Stop defending yourself. Deny yourself (Luke 9:23). Not every accusation deserves your voice. Do you make frantic efforts to defend yourself? That's not following Jesus.
Question 3. ARE YOU FOLLOWING JESUS JOYFULLY OR RELUCTANTLY?
Mark 15:21 (KJV)  And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross.

Beware of Following Like Simon of Cyrene
Mat. 27:32, Luke 23:26
Simon of Cyrene was compelled, not willing.
πŸ‘‰ Lesson:
Don’t follow Jesus grudgingly
Don’t serve God with complaints
Don’t carry the cross without joy
Christianity is not forced suffering — it is willing surrender.
4. DO YOU REALLY KNOW THE CROSS OF JESUS NOW?
Galatians 5:11 (KJV)  And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
The Cross Is Not A Decoration — It Is an Offense
Galatians 5:11 – The offense of the cross
Galatians 6:14 (KJV)  But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
The cross is not an ornament. It's not a decoration. It's not for hanging on your neck, in your car or in your room. Carrying the cross is following Him. It stops you from adjusting your retirement age in the government service. It make you not clock in 8am when you actually came in 9am. The cross attracts persecution and divides.
πŸ‘‰ Lesson:
The cross will:
Make people hate you
Separate you from others
Expose dishonesty
If everyone is comfortable with you, check your cross.
The Cross Will Test Your Integrity
πŸ‘‰ Lesson:
Carrying the cross will:
Isolate you
Make you misunderstood
Cost you relationships
But it proves you belong to Christ.
6. ARE YOU GOING TOWARDS THE DESTINATION, CHRIST?
There Is a Destination — Becoming Like Jesus. Those in Taxi know their destinations. Those in Buses, trains or planes have destinations. Every Christian has a destination - Christ. Becoming Christ -like is where you are going to. Measure yourself by how much you have become more like Christ.
Galatians 6:14 (KJV)  But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
πŸ‘‰ Lesson:
You are not just suffering — you are becoming.
But beware:
Distractions on the way
Small compromises
“Little benefits” that remove you from the path.
7. ARE YOU WORKING TOWARDS FINISHING?
You Must Finish because Jesus finished.
John 19:30 – “It is finished”
You don't talk of finishing if there is nothing to do. Jesus must have gone over why He came on the Earth.
The followings must have passed through His mind.
πŸ”Ή 1. To call sinners
Matthew 9:13 / Mark 2:17
“I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
πŸ”Ή 2. To fulfill the law
Matthew 5:17
“I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.”
πŸ”Ή 3. To bring division (truth separates)
Luke 12:49–51
“I am come to send fire on the earth… suppose ye that I am come to give peace? I tell you, Nay…”
πŸ”Ή 4. To give abundant life
John 10:10
“I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
πŸ”Ή 5. To do the Father’s will
John 6:38
“I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.”
πŸ”Ή 6. To bear witness to the truth
John 18:37
“To this end was I born… that I should bear witness unto the truth.”
πŸ”Ή 7. To save, not condemn (first coming)
John 12:47
“I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.”
πŸ”Ή 8. To serve and give His life
Matthew 20:28 / Mark 10:45
“The Son of man came… to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
πŸ”Ή 9. To bring light
John 12:46
“I am come a light into the world…”
πŸ”Ή Simple summary:
He came to:
Save (Luke 19:10)
Call sinners
Give life
Reveal truth
Do God’s will
Die for many
Bring light
πŸ‘‰ Lesson:
Live so you can say:
“I have completed my assignment.”
Not excuses. Not blame. Completion.
8. ARE YOU READY FOR THE CROWING OF THE ROOSTER
The Rooster Will Crow One Day
Matthew 26:69–75
Peter denied Jesus — then remembered.
πŸ‘‰ Lesson:
Denying Jesus today may be:
Not telling the truth
Avoiding responsibility
Living without Christ’s character
Quarrelling, bitterness, lack of love
One day, reality will confront you.
You deny Jesus by adjusting your age in the office. You deny Jesus when you take bribe. You deny Jesus when you are seen drinking at the beer parlour. You deny Jesus when you do exam malpractice, when you cheat in exams.
FINAL CALL
Be guiltless
Be silent when necessary
Carry your cross willingly
Accept separation
Stay on the path
Finish your assignment

Pray about this.
