PLANS COME TO NOTHING AT DEATH

The statement “At death human plans come to an end” reflects a clear biblical truth. The Bible teaches that death terminates all earthly ambitions, schemes, and opportunities for action.
Here are the key scriptures that teach this:
Psalm 146:4 (KJV)
“His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.”
→ All human plans, intentions, and strategies end at death.
Ecclesiastes 9:5–6 (KJV)
“For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing… also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished.”
Ecclesiastes 9:10 (KJV)
“Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.”
James 4:13–14 (KJV)
“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow… your life is even a vapour.”
→ Human planning is limited by the uncertainty of life.
Spiritual Lesson
Earthly plans are temporary
Only what is done for God outlives death
Death is the end of planning, but not the end of existence (Hebrews 9:27)
Practical Application
Plan wisely, but submit plans to God (Proverbs 16:3)
Prepare more for eternity than for time
Live each day with purpose and obedience
