GOD TALKS TO HIS CHILDREN THROUGH DREAMS
Thanks for all those showing interests on this online revival prayers. The Lord has just shown me how things can still work despite our various interests.
I had stopped connecting after many attempts that were having different responses:
1. A friend in Abuja couldn't join in the early morning time of prayer because he was in a meeting. And he was having health challenge that hinders his joining us after his earlier meeting.
2. Another brother suggested havng a time set for it on Saturdays. He suggested 8 pm.
3. Another brother had to go mute because he was moving in a bus in Lagos.
4. So many wonderful sisters who desire to pray but don't understand how to operate android phones.
5. Some joined and they appear not to hear me. Maybe they were not expecting voice communication on WhatsApp.
6. Many joined or called while I was off the voice call. I had to be off because leaving it on all the way seems to be a disturbance to some as the notice of the group voice call keep drawing their attention to it.
While I prayed alone, I slept off and God talked to me through the following dream:
It was like I was in a great occasion with all kinds of people. I saw that I was part of those hosting the people.
There were all kinds of people - young and old. Many of them were known to me. Some are new to me.
It was an occasion I could not classify. It was not a wedding, not a burial, not a naming ceremony, not a house warming, etc.
Some there were just around because they were on leave. One was about to lose his appointment. Some were mothers who were distracted by their young children.
I remember (in the dream) having been working on installing a new printing machine. One of our spiritual leaders wanted us to start publishing locally. Yet we needed one machine part before the press can work. I had kept waiting for that part without having it. So I left that area and joined the people in the occasion I was talking about earlier.
Then I saw people lining up to eat. The line was so extensive - spanning many compounds/plots away. I stood and I was hungry. When all had eaten, I went there (with my own food in hand) and asked one of those serving to serve me. There were all kinds of menus. I wanted to eat pounded yam (what I brought), a young brother came to me and said that eating alone is difficult for him and that I should join him to eat together. I told him that I actually prefer to eat pounded yam. He was eating amala (swallow of another kind). The person serving me was carrying my food to boy's when I woke up.
I went to God when I woke up and remembered the dream. Given the perplexity I was in about how to obey the Lord about mobilizing others to pray, I knew it was important for me to know the interpretation of this dream.
Here are what I trust about the Lord and His word.
1. He is a noble Man (Lk 19:12)
2. Only God interprets dreams. Gen 40:8
3. No man can interpret dreams. Gen. 41:16. Dan. 2:27-28 perfectly agrees with this.
4. To ever get God's help in anyway, it's one's responsibility to do the followings:
Proverbs 3:5-7 (KJV) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
7. To hear God requires being still. It's easier and faster that way.
Psalms 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
So I waited in faith and the interpretation came. Here is the meaning of what God is saying through the dream.
Submission to one another is the only way for His people to work together.
1. What you were seeing in the dream is the way things are. People are engaged in many different ways at every particular moment. Walking together therefore requires agreement (Amos 3:3).
2. Agreeing to eat the same food at one particular moment is submission. I heard a sister (in a Peace House meeting) explain how she got to know the meaning of submission to her husband. Her husband wanted both of them to eat swallow earlier and she said that she preferred to take rice. In that same place, she noticed how a sister who had told those serving to give her rice quickly changed and agreed with her husband when he suggested that they take swallow. The Lord helped her to know that is submission.
3. So eating together enhances fellowship. Eating the same menu instead of different menus is still better. After all, both are carbohydrates. Both are swallow. Both will quench hunger.
I understood Him to be saying that if agree to various terms and ways other people like, this mobilizing for revival prayer can still work.
I had only one problem. I want to sleep early, especially on Saturdays. I remember my dreams better if I sleep early. What must be done on Sundays (as well as other days) is getting the will of God done. Many come to Church expecting help from God. We must be channels that God can easily pass through to bless His people.
God delights in speaking to us through dreams. This is clear from the word of God as follows:
Job 7:17-18 (KJV) What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him? and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon him?
And that thou shouldest visit him every morning, and try him every moment?
Let's not trivialize His visits in the cool of our day. Value it and God can use it to encourage you and His work. Paul benefited from it a lot.
1. It why He got that big revival in Ephesus
Acts 18:9-10 (KJV) Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:
For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.
2. It was why they went to Macedonia
Acts 16:9-10 (KJV) And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.
3. It was why Peter didn't refuse to follow those sent from Cornelius to call him. Acts 10:10ff.
