SHOWING JESUS FILM TO EDUCATE AND INFORM THE MISINFORMED NORTHERNERS

This is another way to do the will of God. before you die.

About five years ago, the Lord told us in Peace House, Lokoja, that we can take advantage of the fact that a lot of Northerners, the Muslims among us can be helped to know the Lord.

Yes, they are here to do bricklayer work, labour work on our building sites. They are here to break firewood, to make tea and sell their wares to us. They are here to carry us on a Bikes or Okada. What do we do with their presence? 

To answer that question, you need to remember that in the past, you know that to reach people of other tribes you go to them. We call it Missions. And then you would study their language and get accustomed to them. After that you begin to preach to them. But here they are, the very people that didn't get what Jesus did for them. Some are here to steal, rape our women or grasp our farms or lands.

Yet we can take advantage of their presence .We can't begin to preach to every to every Okada man that carry us on his bike. We can preach to everyone of them we engage to work for us on our building sites as a bricklayer or to support the carpenter or to dig a well or septic tank and soakaway. Whatever they are doing on our sites or on the sites of our children or grandchildren, we have a right to call them aside and talk to them 

Anybody can do that. And many of the Elders are building one thing or the other or have your sons who are building one thing or the other. We can go to the sites of our children or grandchildren and present the Gospel to those working there. 

Another way it came to us then was that we should begin to show Jesus film in Pigin and in local languages like Hausa, Nupe, and in other unreached peoples' languages that we know around us.

The Lord told us to do that in all the strategic places and junctions in Lokoja. By strategic, I mean where Hausa people usually gather or sell their wares or services. Jesus Film will help them to understand the story of Jesus from the real source, the Bible. 

Why not just ask them read the Bible? That won't work because most of these northerner coming to us are illiterate. Why not engage then by preaching to them? That too won't work because of the wrong foundations already laid by Islam. Every effort to tell them the truth is met with arguments and lies from Koran. 

I have a personal experience around 1995 to 1996. I was in Abuja, and because I was new in Abuja and had nothing to do, I started using my car to carry passengers so that I can at least get money in my pocket. I tried to preach to most of the Passengers I picked. Some of the passengers I preached to appeared never to have heard the true Gospel before.

God gave us a vision and a mission to begin showing Jesus Film at strategic places and junctions in Lokoja. We started at Ganaja Junction, in front of Merab House. I thank God for the wife who granted us permission to show the film every evening from 24th December  to first January every year.

The Lord told us to leave Him to confirm the word in their hearts. We began by showing Jesus Film in Hausa, Fulani, Nupe, etc. The northerners selling things around us were seen covering their wares at their closing times and turning to us to hear abd watch the film to the end. It was not that we even invited them. That confirmed to us that God was touching them.

Some people who were through where we were at Ganaja Junction stopped and watched the film until the end. So we desired to show the film in the other places.

WHY DIDN'T WE DO THAT?

Logistic problems set in at the time. We needed to bring in a generator every evening plus the projector, the screen and the stand. There was no vehicle available for the purpose. We couldn't continue. We began to pray more for wisdom.

We needed the collaboration of ministers, Churches and denominations to do what God was then expecting from us. If we work together as God's people.

There are enough denominations and Churches to set up groups to be showing Jesus Films at the following Junctios or public places in Lokoja.

The total number of points to show Jesus Film is 19+13+13=45. It can be more.

Is that too many? Each denomination can take responsibility to man a junction. Major denominations in Lokoa include:

1. Anglican Dominion. They can man more than 10 centres or points because they have bug congratulations in their churches in Lokoja.

2. ECWA Church can man up to eight junctions 

3. Baptist Church can man up 5 such centres in Lokoja.

4. UEC can handle at least three points in Lokoja.

5. TAC can handle at least two.

6. CAC can manage two centres

7. Redeemed Christian Church of God can handle 10 of the Juncions if they want to 

8. Methodist Church 

9. CEFN Church should be able to handle one centre 

10. CMML Church should be a able to handle one junction 

11. UMCA

12. Chapel of Freedom should be able to manage a centre

13. Knowledge of the Truth should be able to take a centre.

14. Abundant Life (3denominations bear that name or similar ones in Lokoja)

The list is endless. We can have the master list of churches that are in Lokoja from Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN.

CAN has five Bloc. I have only listed churches from three of the Blocs. These are the ines that that claim to believe the entire bibles as God's word and. also claim to ve evangelical.

This work is within what we can do if we unite. Retires in these churches can start the ball rolling by speaking up for God inbtheir Church Committee or Council meetings.
