9.6.25 FIRST IMPRESSIONS - Alex Oguh life journal
That David should do whatever he wanted about building a house for God was not correct. David's hands were too bloody to build for God.

So I made many mistakes in hearing. One particular one for years was about God's concept of death compared to mine.

We were in a Leaders' Discipleship Meeting in Saint Luke Adankolo, Lokoja many years ago. I don't remember whether Bro. Matthew, the Pharmacist from Peace House, Gboko, was our Guest Speaker. I ony remember that he was the speaker years later in the same kind meeting when the Lord explained to me that what I thought I heard Him say was not true. As the speaker spoke one night, I thought that I heard God say that I would die before my wife.

I was happy about that and I told her when I returned home after the meeting. It was a comfort to me because she was seriously sick around that time. It was like God was telling me that He had answered my prayers for her

That was my believe for years till we were in the same kind of meeting many years later. I had grown in understanding of what calls death to self, death to sin and the to the world.

And the Lord explained to me that He oniwanted me to know that my wife will only die to self if she can see me live that kind of life first.
Luke 9:23 (KJV)  And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Luke 9:23-25 MSG

[23-27] Then he told them what they could expect for themselves: “Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat—I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self. What good would it do to get everything you want and lose you, the real you?

That was one of my many mistakes in hearing. It happened because I could not hear His words then because of my spiritual level. Remember that the Lord once told His followers that it was not possible to teach them some things till the Holy Ghost had come on them.
John 16:12 (KJV)  I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
Many believers are at that level. This is also the reason why every one who wants to grow in Christ must first read the bible through and through.
