FIRST IMPRESSIONS by Alex Oguh
This came to me suddenly as I was leading Friday evening prayer in our Church yesterday. I was explaining divine or destiny helper as directed by my Church leader, Rev.Dr Philips Alhassan.
So I delved into the help I need most from God - the ordered step. It was what brought Saul, son of Kish, before Samuel to be anointed to become king of Israel. I talked of the divine orchestration of donkeys to appear missing, the strange way Saul searched for lost donkeys. Can domesticated donkeys go that far from a home they are used to?
When Saul came to his senses and wanted to turn back, God used the slave with him to suggest seeing Samuel. Suddenly I saw as strange that a slave, likely a foreigner, knew more than the son of a wealthy man in Israel.
Another objection that would have stopped Saul from entering his divine location was money. No money on his for offering to the prophet. Again it was the slave who had money. I don't know whether you see that as strange as I do.
1 Samuel 9:8 (KJV) And the servant answered Saul again, and said, Behold, I have here at hand the fourth part of a shekel of silver: that will I give to the man of God, to tell us our way.
Imagine a slave contributing to make God's will happen to Saul. I believe all things work together for those who love God or are loved by God. I want to be in that category always. It's simple to be there as can be seen from
1 John 3:22 (KJV) And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
So Saul got to Samuel and into the feast as for seen. He ate the portion of the meat left for him since the day before. The following day, Samuel poured oil on him. I want that to always happen to me.
It happened to Ruth. She just went to see glean on any farm around Jerusalem. The Lord ordered her steps into her future farm. After marrying Boaz, she became a part owner of the farm. How did that happen? Her steps were ordered by the Lord.
Praying on every matter is necessary. How dare you take any step without asking the Lord? See Peter and John in
Luke 22:8-13 (KJV) And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?
And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.
And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
God asked you to go and do something and you begin questioning Him about where and how to do it? I didn't do that at the beginning of my journey with the Lord. This is one of the apostles doctrines for me. That prayer for further direction stopped them from squandering money on rent, furniture, separate accomodations after the feast, etc. it pays to follow the Lord, but sometimes I make.mistakes.
That is why I like ORDERED STEPS more. Whether I fall or rise,.let me hit the mark. Love of my earthly father may spur hatred. My brothers may enjoy sin and sinning. I may be sold as a slave. A big soldier of Pharaoh may buy me. The wife of the man may be a Manizer. Her lies may push me into prison. There I will meet my destiny helpers.
I will thank God for being forgotten by that I help. No problem. Had he remembered Joseph and helped him return to Canaan, the plan of God would have been aborted. So God took out the memory of Joseph from that big man who could have helped him or pay off Potiphar. All that would have been enemical to God's plan for Joseph.
Do you now understand why you must thank God for everything that happen to us? It's because we don't know the way up or down to where God wants us to be. I like ordered steps.
Can you pray for God to order your steps like He did some in the past? I'm sorry Lord for arguing with you along the way.
This was the sin God confronted with when we started praying yesterday in the Friday prayer meeting. "Why then have been arguing with Me," He asked. He was referring to the need for me to write daily.
I confessed and now I'm starting with this piece. Follow me to read it daily. Make suggestions to make the write-up better and better..
