THE VALUE OF JESUS - Part 1

THE VALUE OF JESUS
Can Jesus be valued? That is difficult. Just let us try to value Him.
1. VALUE OF JESUS BASED ON CHRISTMAS
The rush has started. Does it surprise you as it does me every Christmas time? Another Christmas is in the corner. Traffic everywhere is especially busy at this time. Therefore accidents are more likely to increase. It is natural. Drivers are making money. Transport fares are up. The demand for transport is very high.

I made a mistake a day to Christmas many years ago. We packed ourselves, the family, into the car to go home for Christmas. Less than a kilometer from home, I remembered something I forgot to take. Was it the car jack? I can’t remember now. Despite the busy road, we turned at Gadumo, just after the Meme Bridge in Lokoja. We eventually got home, picked the thing and turned. The road we returned to was like a different road. It was so busy that it was almost sun set before we left Lokoja. We came to the village late. Being late was what we planned to avoid by starting earlier in the day.  I advise you, plan with the traffic in mind at every Christmas. It was in those years back then, people that went to Nataco, a part of Lokoja by the road going to Abuja, our nation’s capital city, to wash their cars for Christmas couldn’t return to their homes for days because of the traffic jam. A sachet of pure water that used to sell at five naira jumped above ten naira. Why? The Son of God came into the world some 2,000 years ago. The world must hear about that.
Angels sang at that first Christmas. God has now turned vehicular traffic to His messengers. Angel simply means messenger in their language.

At this time some 2,000 years ago, perhaps Joseph and Mary were on their way to Bethlehem to be counted.  It was a kind of family re-union. Almost everybody that came was a relative of the other and of the residents of Bethlehem. Why not? They were descendants of David. Yet no place for Joseph and Mary to stay.

Was it that nobody noticed that the young lady was heavily pregnant? Were they all callous in Bethlehem? No! the situation was bad. David had multiplied. There were too many visitors. That is another way to value God. Those who know this God receive 7 blessings packed as one. We can’t value that, can we? See the package in

Gen 12:1-4
God told Abram: "Leave your country, your family, and your father's home for a land that I will show you.
2 I'll make you a great nation
and bless you.
I'll make you famous;
you'll be a blessing.
3 I'll bless those who bless you;
those who curse you I'll curse.
All the families of the Earth
will be blessed through you." Message

Anyone who does like Abraham gets:
Large, famous and ever-extending family like that of Abraham. Look at Israel today. Their population in 2023 is 9 million. Who would have believed this – that that small boy born by over-age Sarah, would be become a nation? And not all Isaac’s descendants are living in Israel. Put together, their population is about 4 million people. From the web, I got the following information as at today, 22nd December 2023.
While Jews historically have been found all around the globe, Judaism is highly geographically concentrated today. More than four-fifths of all Jews live in just two countries, the United States (41%) and Israel (41%). The largest remaining shares of the global Jewish population are in Canada (about 3%), France (2%), the United Kingdom (2%), Germany (2%), Russia (2%) and Argentina (between 1% and 2%).

Can this number of descendants be valued? And we are talking of the living Jews. Billion have come and gone to the grave.

Come to Jesus. He wants to make you great like Himself. Happy Christmas. Prepare for this new year and new Master, if you have not yet come under His authority.
