1 Thessalonians 1:5 (KJV)  For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

Good morning as we go further with the Lord about our work in real evangelism. Without real evangelism, the work has no future. 

I was leading a prayer group yesterday and again saw what I have always seen as abnormal in our generation. I asked how many have covered the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Only three or so raised their hands out of over 30 persons. 

Why are the people of God not hungry.and thirsty for even the sincere milk of the word of God (1Pt 2:2). Why? 

First they see the written scripture as mere words. And words are everywhere. Babys are muttering some words. Adults are coining new ones and some even twist the existing words. Words, words everywhere and none has weight. Presidents and nations make promises that come to nothing. The men and women of God are not trustworthy. 

It has always been so from generation to generation. It was why Ahab and his team of leaders didn't arrest Elijah that first time he came to pronounce that there will be no rains till he speaks to welcome it again.

It was like the words of a mad man. They decided to see him as another mad man saying things. God, who knew the future, knew that they will send ambassadors and military attachees from country to country to look for that seemingly mad man, God led him to hide by a brook. The words he spoke had power, had the Holy God (God) and the life of Elijah.

Those words came to pass not because of the words spoken. Try to speak the same words. Nothing may happen. It's no only God's words that are spirit and life (Jn 6:63).

Again see what Paul said in 1 Thess 1:5 in another version:

New Living Translation
For when we brought you the Good News, it was not only with words but also with power, for the Holy Spirit gave you full assurance that what we said was true. And you know of our concern for you from the way we lived when we were with you.

This is very important. Can we stop here so that you pray tp stop forwarding the gospel in word only? This will stop the congregation frm calling you a man man. We will explain further tomorrow.

Good morning. Pray for at least one pastor to stop preaching in words only. The revival we are praying for will not come till we start preachi in 5 ways.
