POURING IN -2

... then pour into all those vessels.’ ? Kgs 4:4.
Like I said yesterday, pouring in of knowledge is the most important stage in this story and the making of disciples.
Throughout this month, we shall be looking at the teaching work of the Church. The Church is a spiritual organization, no doubt. The Church is a living institution, no doubt. Permit me to say that the Church is also a School.
Our new students are the new converts. Our granduands go out to replace the ever- decreasing numbers of our Kingdom staff (Ephesians 4:11 (KJV) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;...).
They are always depleting because of aging, death and backsliding. What we are expected to be doing is like what Education sector is doing for the governments and the industry all over the world.
There should be intake regularly and we should know the class of trainees we have at every stage. Just like there are statistics stating how many professionals in each category are likely to come out each academic year, it should be possible to have our statistical figures.
Only that we don't need such figures. Let our hearts not shift to it as our sufficiency. It was a great sin when David numbered Isreal (2 Sam. 24). After all, can we produce enough workers for this our Kingdom need? Remember that God had in mind to make all the people of Israel His special priests (Ex. 19:4-6) so as to do this work for Him.
The pastors are pouring in their knowledge and their lives into the new converts. The evangelists do the same. The teachers do the same in their own way. They are not supposed to just give them teachings, they are to give themselves to the converts too. Paul was willing to give himself to the people of God. He said that his staying alive was for their sake (Phil. 1:22-24). He had no personal interest in the matter.
As the people grew in the Lord, they became willing to give themselves to Paul too (Gal. 4:15). This is why we must be wise in appointing workers in the Church of God. A bad Pastor will do more damage. Even if he teaches well, if he has sins in secret, the people can never come out of sin. He gives himself to them.
It's a pouring in, my brethren. If it's only a pouring in, then the present Church arrangement should have been okay. The pouring is likened to nursing children. We are often told to carry God's people as a nursing mother (Nu. 11:12; 1 Thess. 2:7). You can't nurse a hundred babies at once. That is why most babies in the Church remain babies. There is no proper nursing. There are too many babies per nurse. And we are like Oliver Twist. We keep asking for more without considering our capacity to make them for Christ.
We are to also know each of the sheep by name and call them by name. How can one of us claim to do these things well when you're the only real leader of 300 members? We are looking for trouble with the Master.
I had a dream and I saw many people pursuing a General Overseer (Church owner) after theybdiscovered inneternity that he didn't tell them the whole truth while they were on earth. May that not be true of me and of you.
